Behavior Modification Training

What is behavior modification?

Behavior modification training is used to help change a dogs emotional response to something in their environment. The reaction that is typically displayed in troubled dogs are aggression, anxiety, fear or even OCD behavior.

What is the difference between regular obedience training and behavior modification?

In obedience, your dog to learning to listen, focus, and follow commands, regardless of what is going on in their environment. For dogs with challenging behavior, they are unable to focus and display extreme responses, like lunging on leash at another dog. This can result unwanted behavior for you dog.

Some of those poor choices include:

  • Barking and growling at strangers
  • Aggression to people and dogs
  • Resource guarding
  • Destructive behavior
  • Self-injury
  •  Biting people and/or dogs

How we can help:

Our trainers have the confidence, skills and experience to handle extreme cases.

In behavior modification, our goal is to build a confident and balanced dog by  identifying triggers and guiding dogs to make better, long-lasting changes. Owners are taught skills, such as  reading dog body language, that will help them master challenging situations in the real world that their dog may face.
